The Grand Ducal Police have reported that its officers responded to about 40 incidents between the evening of Friday 17 May and the morning of Saturday 18 May 2024.
During this overnight period, the police had to be deployed in about 40 cases due to fights, arguments and night noise nuisances. In most cases, the people involved were drunk but the situation could be calmed on the spot.
Nevertheless, at around 19:40 on Friday, police received reports of a heavily intoxicated man on the road, attacking drivers and passers-by, on the Boulevard de la Foire in Luxembourg City. A police patrol found the man and arrested him when he refused to calm down; the police added that his intoxicated state meant he posed a danger to both himself and others.
