On Wednesday 8 May 2024, as every year, from May to September, the Ratelach (the Kulturfabrik bistro) switched to its summer version, becoming the Kufa Summer Bar in Esch-sur-Alzette.

A summery atmosphere reigned including a food truck and children making chalk drawings on the asphalt for the Kufa Summer Bar return on its fifth edition. The new Kufa Béier was unveiled on the occasion (and was offered free of charge for the first hour of the event).

Brewed by Brasserie Simon and in limited edition, the special beer was a “New England IPA” with a light hint of mango. The label was created by Luxembourg artist Damien Giudice a.k.a Boy From Home, whose vernissage to the print exhibition “Between Passion and Pressure” took place on the same evening. The exhibition is a comprehensive collection of his prints created since 2020 and will be on display until 21 September 2024. These works represent personal passions such as nature, music, monsters and emotions but they also represent "the constant pressure artists face to assert themselves and succeed in their artistic endeavours", according to the organisers.

The bar’s colourful lanterns, reclaimed furniture and artistic atmosphere shone through outside, on the terrace of the Kulturfabrik, where the furniture had been touched up with the help of the non-profit organisation SINGA, which helps facilitate the inclusion of newcomers in Luxembourg.

The evening’s programme included a varied DJ-set by Zeduardo with coladeira, funaná, puxa, afrobeat, afro-funk and afro-disco music and a Mediterranean techno concert by Olkan & La Vipère Rouge.

The Kufa Summer Bar is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 17:00 to 01:00.
