Luxembourg's Ministry of State has reported that Prime Minister Luc Frieden visited the site of the Elmen residential project on Monday 6 May 2024.
The visit took place in the presence of the Mayor of Kehlen, Félix Eischen, the Director of the SNHBM national affordable housing company, Guy Entringer, and the President of the SNHBM Board of Directors, Annick Rock.
With the construction of 375 houses and 375 apartments, this new real estate development is intended to accommodate nearly 2,000 residents in a modern and sustainable environment, reported the ministry.
Spanning an area of 27 hectares, the project integrates not only affordable housing, but also green spaces, local services and eight centralised car parks to meet the needs of the resident community. The ministry noted that the project focuses on innovation and sustainability.
As part of his visit, Prime Minister Frieden stressed the importance of completing this project on time. "The finalisation of large-scale projects, such as Elmen, is a national priority," he said. "We need to ensure that more families can move into decent, affordable homes quickly. Although this construction project is nearing completion, the housing situation requires that such projects can be completed more quickly."
