The CASINO 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains has confirmed that, on Sunday 27 August 2023, a customer won a jackpot on the Volcano Island slot machine.
One customer, identified as Thomas (modified name, from Meurthe-et-Moselle), won a total of €185,219 at 00:23 on Sunday. He revealed that he plans to retire early.
This is one of the biggest jackpots in the history of CASINO 2000 which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
The largest sum won to date dates to sixteen years ago, with more than €1.5 million won in May 2007. Other players have won large sums over the years: €686,348 in March 2011, €203,800 and €460,638 in May and June 2016 and €349,652 in January 2020.
CASINO 2000 added that, on average, more than €17 million in jackpots (and cumulative prizes) are paid out per month.
