On Saturday 22 April 2023, Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg married Nicolas Bagory in a civil ceremony at Luxembourg City's Town Hall.
Despite the intermittent rain, members of the public and the press came out in droves for this special occasion. There were cheers and rounds of applause as Princess Alexandra and Mr Bagory, joined by other members of the Grand Ducal family, made their way from the Grand Ducal Palace to the Town Hall and even more cheers as the couple made their first public appearance as newlyweds after the ceremony on Saturday afternoon.
The bride and groom arrived in Place Guillaume II around 15:00, with the civil ceremony taking place at the Town Hall at 15:30. About half an hour later, the newlyweds and royal guests came out to greet the crowd. They then headed back to the Grand Ducal Palace for a reception, held on Saturday evening in the presence of family members of the newlyweds, representatives of the national authorities and other guests.

Background
Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg announced the engagement of their only daughter, Princess Alexandra, to Nicolas Bagory back in November 2022. The civil and religious wedding ceremonies were planned one week apart, with the latter set to take place on Saturday 29 April 2023 at Saint Trophyme Church in Bormes-les-Mimosas, in southeastern France.
Princess Alexandra was born on 16 February 1991 at the Maternité Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in Luxembourg. She is the fourth child of the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess. In 2009, Princess Alexandra received the "Order of the Golden Lion of the House of Nassau". She studied psychology and social sciences in the United States before obtaining a bachelor's degree in Philosophy in Paris. She later graduated from Trinity College Dubin and obtained a master's degree in Interfaith Studies from the the Irish School of Ecumenics.
Born on 11 November 1988, Nicolas Bagory grew up in Brittany in France. He studied political science and classical literature and is now involved in the creation of social and cultural projects.
