On Tuesday 14 February 2023, Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary.
Grand Duke Henri (then the Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg) and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa (Maria Teresa Mestre y Batista) got married at the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Luxembourg on 14 February 1981. The couple had met during their university studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Grand Ducal couple have five children together: Prince Guillaume, the Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Prince Félix, Prince Louis, Princess Alexandra and Prince Sébastien.
To mark the occasion of their 42nd wedding anniversary, the Grand Ducal Court has shared the new official portraits of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.
