On Monday 2 January 2023, the Grand Ducal Police confirmed that a shooting took place in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie in the early hours of the morning of Sunday 1 January 2023.
Shortly after 01:00, at the Rocade in Bonnevoie, an incident occurred in which a person was shot in the leg with a firearm.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment after first aid was provided on site by the emergency services who had been called to the scene.
Following an immediate search of the area, a suspect was identified a short time later. The alleged perpetrator was arrested by order of the public prosecutor's office and brought before the investigating judge on Sunday afternoon.
