On Friday 2 September 2022, the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) and the national federation of showmen (Fédération Nationale des Commerçants Forains – FNCF) paid tribute to John the Blind, the founder of the Schueberfouer.

A flower laying ceremony took place in front of the monument dedicated to John the Blind, the 14th century King of Bohemia and Count of Luxembourg, in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg after the traditional fairground mass on Friday.

On this occasion, Maurice Bauer, Alderman of the City of Luxembourg, and Charles Hary, President of the FNCF, paid tribute to the founder of the Schueberfouer while reviewing the history of this unique event during their speeches.
