Weather Warning for Extreme Heat Upgraded to Red

Luxembourg's weather portal, MeteoLux, has upgraded its nationwide weather warning in relation to high temperatures, for Tuesday 19 July 2022.

This red weather warning ("extreme heat") will remain in place across the Grand Duchy from 13:00 to 21:00 on Tuesday. Maximum temperatures in the north of Luxembourg are expected to reach between 34 °C and 36 °C whilst in the south, maximum temperatures are expected between 35 °C and 38 °C.

MeteoLux also warned that in the Moselle region as well as in large cities, maximum temperatures can reach up to 39°C.

Moreover, an orange ozone level warning will be in place nationwide on Tuesday, from 12:00 to 00:00. During these times, ozone levels in the air may exceed the European Union (EU) information threshold of 180 µg/m3.
