The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (Corps grand-ducal d'incendie et de secours - CGDIS) has reported that a big fire broke out in a barn in Ruedt, Rue de Remich, in the municipality of Waldbredimus on Friday 8 July 2022.
Following the report of fire at around 17:11, a large number of emergency services were alerted immediately. The first responders to arrive on site determined that the barn was fully engulfed in fire.
The operations management divided the fire site into two sections and extinguishing work began immediately. The measures also prevented the flames from spreading to an adjacent barn.
The fire was brought under control around 18:19 and the subsequent extinguishing work lasted until around 00:50.
No people or animals were injured in the incident.
A total of around 70 firefighters were involved in the extinguishing work.
The operation was coordinated by the CGDIS Situation Centre (CGO).
