The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (Corps grand-ducal d'incendie et de secours - CGDIS) has reported that its firefighters put out a house fire in Helmsange on Tuesday 14 June 2022.

Responding to calls concerning a house fire in Helmsange on Tuesday evening, the emergency services were faced with a roof fire in a house under construction that risked spreading quickly to an adjoining house.

Owing to the responsiveness of the first firefighters on site, the fire was quickly brought under control. However, the extinguishing work was greatly complicated by the fact that the fire continued to spread through the compressed wood fiber insulation of the roof.

For several hours, the firefighters were forced to uncover the roof in order to exclude any resumption of the fire and a team had to remain stationed on site for a large part of Tuesday night.
