On Friday 3 June 2022, the official launch of the artistic project "My Urban Piano" took place in front of the Cercle Cité building on the Place d'Armes, in the presence of the College of Mayors and Aldermen.

On this occasion, Hermès Kieffer, a student in the upper division of the City Conservatory (Conservatoire de la Ville), performed Doumka - Russian Rustic Scene op. 59 by P I Tchaikovsky and Sonata Hob. XVI:52 in E flat major - Finale: Presto by J Haydn.

Seventeen pianos in the public space

From 3 to 19 June, seventeen pianos are installed in the streets, tourist spots, neighborhoods and parks across Luxembourg-ville to brighten up public spaces.

Each piano, decorated by partners from the associative, artistic or educational world, is in itself a work of art and fits into its urban environment. The pianos, freely accessible, are available to the public – amateurs or experienced musicians – to improvise micro concerts and to make the capital vibrate to piano tunes.

"My Urban Piano Luxembourg" is intended to be an annual and participatory initiative like other projects around the piano in other capitals around the world.
