On Monday 2 May 2022, Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Minister of State, Xavier Bettel, confirmed that that His Royal Highness the Grand Duke has accepted the resignation of Carole Dieschbourg, at her own request, as the Minister of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development.

Joëlle Welfring was sworn in as a new member of the government. She was appointed Minister of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development.

On 22 April 2022, the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development was temporarily assigned to Claude Turmes, Minister of Energy and Minister of Regional Planning. This temporary assignment has ended as on 2 May 2022.
