European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Stella Kyriakides;

The European Commission has announced the the European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Stella Kyriakides, will pay an official visit to Luxembourg, tomorrow 28 April 2022, as part of the European Commission's efforts to provide support to Ukrainian refugees in the field of health, management of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the implementation of the European Health Union. 

The Commissioner will meet the Grand Duke of Luxembourg and visit a reception centre for Ukrainian refugees with Jean Asselborn, Luxembourg's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg. The Commissioner will also meet Paulette Lenert, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health of Luxembourg, to discuss Luxembourg's approach to these key issues.

Ahead of this visit, Commissioner Kyriakides said "Luxembourg is a founding member of our Union, and a motor of European cooperation throughout its history. As Russia's brutal war in Ukraine enters its third month, we continue to intensify our efforts to provide essential emergency assistance to Ukraine and its people. The heart-warming support and generosity of Luxembourg and our other Member States, civil society organizations, volunteers and citizens are more important than ever to help protect the physical and mental health of Ukrainian refugees.
