The Regional Tourist office of the Mullerthal Region (Luxembourg's Little Switzerland) is the project coordinator of the LEADER project Propper Regioun; this project has led to the regional campaign "Care for your Forest - Këmmer dech ëm däi Bësch".

Together with the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall, the municipalities, the tourist information office, the nature administration and Copil, the campaign was launched and the official start had been celebrated on Tuesday 26 April 2022 in the municipality of Rosport-Mompach.

During the presentation, ORT President Christophe Origer was delighted that the "Propper Regioun" working group, which has been in existence for two years, has led to this campaign with the active support of all stakeholders from the region. The Clean Up Day Mëllerdall (Mulerthal) was also based on this initiative. He was pleased to welcome a number of guides whose daily business is to show people nature.

In her speech, Managing Director Linda Salentin thanked Leader for their financial support and all regional stakeholders for their moral support. She mentioned that it should not be forgotten that nature concerns us all. The forest is a living space, a workplace and has many other functions. The challenge is to combine nature conservation with tourist activities. Tourism is an important branch of the economy and a clean nature is one of the reasons why people spend their vacation here.

Project coordinator Laura Schömer presented the campaign. The focus is on anti-littering, but it is also the job of the regional tourist office to tell people why it is important to avoid littering. The campaign shows how to do things better. Refill bottles, for example, can be used on hikes to avoid plastic bottles. Laura Schömer showed some of the campaign's illustrations on plaques, banners and stickers that will gradually be seen across the region.

Stéphanie Weydert from the municipality of Rosport-Mompach was pleased that so many actors from the region were involved in the campaign. She hopes that people will be better informed and educated so that they also leave no more litter in car parks and along the streets.

At the end of the event, a campaign banner was hung up in Rosport.
