Luxembourg's Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development has announced the easing of regulations to facilitate the entry of Ukrainian refugees with pets.

Amid the war in Ukraine, many refugees have been forced to leave their country in a hurry, often with their pets.

According to current regulations, pets from Ukraine entering the European Union (EU) are subject to certain identification and vaccination conditions. Given the current situation, the European Commission, in collaboration with the EU Member States, has decided to waive these conditions in order to facilitate the entry of refugees with their pets.

In order to register their pets, pet owners arriving from Ukraine are asked to contact a veterinarian in Luxembourg. The Veterinary Services Administration will also visit reception centres to support the process of registering animals.

For any additional questions, those concerned are asked to contact the Veterinary Services Administration via email: info@asv.etat.lu or via tel.: 247-82539. The registration form, which is available in French, Ukrainian and English, can be downloaded here.
