Paul Dühr has been appointed the new Marshal of the Court for Luxembourg.
According to an official statement released on Thursday morning by the Grand Ducal Court, His Royal Highness the Grand Duke has taken the decision, in consultation with the Luxembourg Government, to appoint former ambassador Paul Dühr to the post of Marshal of the Court.
Mr Dühr will take office on 20 April 2022. He replaces Yuriko Backes, who stepped down from the post in January 2022 to assume her new duties as Luxembourg's Minister of Finance. Ms Backes had served as Marshal of the Court since June 2020.
The Grand Duke was reportedly pleased to be able to enlist the help of Paul Dühr, a former member of Luxembourg's diplomatic corps, "whose experience and skills acquired during a long career in positions of responsibility in Luxembourg and abroad will be used to assume the management of the Maison du Grand-Duc".
