The Grand Ducal Police have reported that two serious road accidents and one serious work accident occurred in Luxembourg on Monday 13 September 2021.

At around 13:35 on Monday, an overtaking manoeuvre in Rue de Hivange (CR111) in south-western Luxembourg resulted in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a car. According to police reports, the motorcyclist had attempted to overtake a vehicle in front when he collided with an oncoming car. The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for further treatment after receiving first aid on site. The car driver, who was in shock, was also taken to hospital for treatment. An accident report was drawn up.

At around 15:00 that same day, police received reports of another road accident at Quatre-Vents roundabout on the N12. A motorcyclist had reportedly lost control of his vehicle and crashed at the roundabout. Passers-by helped get the motorcyclist and his vehicle off the road and over to the terrace of a nearby restaurant. Shortly after, however, another motorist lost control of his car, came off the road and crashed into a woman and the motorcyle from the earlier accident. The woman was taken to hospital after sustaining serious injuries.

In addition, police received reports of a work accident in Oetrange, in south-eastern Luxembourg, shortly before 14:00. For reasons yet to be clarified, a man fell several metres into a supply shaft while working on a construction site on Rue de Canach. He suffered more serious injuries and was taken to hospital for further treatment after receiving first aid. The public prosecutor's office and the trade inspectorate were informed. An investigation has been launched.
