The Grand Ducal Police have reported that, during the past week, they carried out around 300 checks across the Grand Duchy to ensure compliance with the legal provisions against the spread of COVID-19.
In addition to the rules relating to the curfew (around 70% of checks) and large groups assembling, these checks also focused on controls within shopping centres and other commercial activities, as well as their sanitary concepts.
Around 120 people were fined, mostly (in 70% of cases) as a result of having violating the curfew in place between 23:00 and 06:00.
In 20 cases, police officers drew up a protocol or report for non-compliance with the sanitary regulations for the responsible authorities, among other things because restaurants or cafes failed to adhere to the regulations or in the context of large gatherings of people.
