Luxembourg's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has announced that the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has revised the temporary restriction of non-travel to the EU; this is in relation to Council recommendation 2020/2169 of 17 December 2020 amending Council recommendation (EU) 2020/912.

The list of third countries whose residents should not be affected by a temporary restriction at the external borders of non-essential travel to the EU has been updated by withdrawing, with effect from 11 January 2021, Uruguay.

Third-country nationals having their residence in Uruguay are therefore no longer authorised to enter the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg from 11 January 2021.

The list of all exemptions as well as the exact procedures to be carried out beforehand is available at https://covid19.public.lu/en/travellers/visiting-luxembourg.html

The updated list of third countries whose residents are not affected by the temporary restrictions at the external borders of non-essential trips to Luxembourg is therefore now as follows:

• Australia
• China (subject to confirmation of reciprocity at European Union level)
• South Korea
• Japan
• New Zealand
• Rwanda
• Singapore
• Thailand

The temporary restrictions for other third-country nationals remains in place until 31 March 2021 inclusive.
