The Grand Ducal Police carried out a total of 360 checks across Luxembourg last week to ensure compliance with COVID-19 measures, namely the curfew.

In 25 cases, police officers fined restaurants, cafes or shops for failure to comply with the regulations currently in force, mainly regarding the obligatory closing time of 23:00. Most of the violations were recorded in establishments in Luxembourg City.

Police also fined a restaurant in Esch-sur-Alzette where there were more than 100 guests as well as more than four people sitting at some tables.

In addition, police issued around 270 fines to individuals, mainly for breaking curfew. 36 of these fines were issued during a large-scale check in the Ettelbrück-Diekirch area on Friday.

The Grand Ducal Police will continue to carry out checks across the country.
