The baptism of Prince Charles, the infant son of the Hereditary Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, took place on Saturday 19 September 2020 in Clervaux Abbey.

Prince Charles Jean Philippe Joseph Marie Guillaume, born on 10 May 2020, is the first child of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie and the fifth grandchild of current Grand Duke Henri and his wife Grand Duchess Maria Teresa. Prince Charles is second in line to the Luxembourg throne after his father.

Prince Charles' aunt on his mother's side, Countess Gaëlle de Lannoy, is his godmother, whilst his uncle on his father’s side, Prince Louis, is his godfather.

For the baptism, Prince Charles wore a christening gown of the Nassau family, which was previously worn by his father and grandfather, as well as Princess Marie-Astrid, and Prince Jean (the Grand Duke's brother).

In addition to the royal baby and his parents, guests included the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, Prince Félix and Princess Claire accompanied by their children Princess Amalia and Prince Liam, Prince Louis and Prince Sébastien of Luxembourg, as well as the Count and Countess Jehan de Lannoy accompanied by their children, the Count and Countess Christian de Lannoy accompanied by their children, Mrs John Hamilton (née Countess Nathalie de Lannoy), Countess Gaëlle de Lannoy, the Count and Countess Amaury de Lannoy, the Count and Countess Olivier de Lannoy accompanied by their children and Mr and Mrs Jean-Charles de le Court-Countess Isabelle de Lannoy accompanied by their children.

The occasion marked the admittance of Prince Charles into the Catholic Church.
