The Grand Ducal Police carried out over fifteen checks daily across Luxembourg last week to ensure compliance with COVID-19 measures.

During the week of 31 August to 6 September 2020, the police continued to carry out an average of more than fifteen daily checks to ensure coronavirus-related restrictions were being respected. Officers issued a total of fourteen fines and tickets due to individuals and establishments' failure to observe the applicable hygiene regulations.

In three cases, the responsible authorities received reports of the non-respect of hygiene regulations or of the curfew imposed on cafes and restaurants.

In one such case, police drew up a report because a large number of customers in a pub in Luxembourg-Kirchberg on Saturday were dancing in a confined space or moved through the crowd without wearing the mandatory face covering.
