The Grand Ducal Police have reported that an automatic teller machine (ATM) in Pommerloch (mear Wiltz) was blown up on Saturday evening.

The incident happened at around 23:40 at the Q8 filling station on Bastnicherstrooss in Pommerloch. A short time later, the first police patrols arrived at the scene of the explosion. According to witness statements, four masked perpetrators fled the scene in a black Range Rover towards Belgium.

The scene of the crime was cordoned off by the Grand Ducal police and a large-scale manhunt was initiated in the area. However, this was inconclusive and an investigation was instigated.

This latest incident follows a previous such incident in the early hours of last Friday morning, when an ATM was blown up in Grevenmacher, at the Copal shopping centre between 02:45 and 03:15.
