38 Fines Issued for Non-Compliance with COVID-19 Measures

The Grand Ducal Police have reported that police officers carried out around fifteen checks daily across Luxembourg last week to ensure compliance with COVID-19 measures.

During the week of 24 to 30 August 2020, the police continued to carry out checks to ensure coronavirus-related restrictions were being respected. Officers issued a total of 38 fines and tickets due to individuals and establishments' failure to observe the applicable hygiene regulations. 

In Steinfort alone, fifteen people at a private party were fined in the night of 29 to 30 August 2020. In addition, one man was fined for refusing to wear a mask in the Luxembourg Central Station on 29 August 2020.

In four cases, the authorities received reports of cafes and restaurants failing to respect closing hours or clients' failure to wear a mask and sit at a table as required by law.
