On Friday night, the Grand Ducal Police fined a restaurant on the Route de Thionville in Hesperange for remaining open after midnight with some customers on the terrace and inside.
Under the current COVID-19 regulations and legislation, the Grand Ducal Police are monitoring the situation and are clamping down hard on any restaurants / cafés and bars who flout the law - some of the current restrictions include closing by midnight at the latest, not allowing customers stand or be seated at the bar, having physical distancing or partitions between tables, wearing of masks/face coverings unless seated, table service, etc.
On Saturday night, a police patrol discovered two people drinking in a bar in Luxembourg-ville. Due to the smell of cannabis, a search discovered a smoked "joint-like cigarette" in an ashtray. The police recorded both violations.
Another police patrol went to the Drai Eechelen (Three Acorns) park in Kirchberg which had been closed late last week following recent parties that had been held there as evidenced by litter that had been left behind, including bottles. On Friday and Saturday, no people had gathered there.
