The number of people applying for international protection (asylum) in Luxembourg in April 2020 stood at ten, a significantly lower figure that that of the previous month (116) and April 2019 (170).
A total of 37 decisions on asylum applications were taken during April 2020, with 35 applicants being granted international protection in Luxembourg.
A total of 386 applications for asylum have been received so far this year. The largest number of applicants seeking asylum in 2020 to date came from Syria (79), followed by Eritrea (59) and Venezuela (37).
