Suspected Arsonist Apprehended for Damage to Public Recycling, Rubbish Bins

The Grand Ducal Police have reported the arrest of an individual suspected of having wilfully set fire to rubbish and recycling bins in Luxembourg-Merl.

According to police reports, the Luxembourg-Merl residential area has been hit by recurrent fires in recent weeks. The alleged perpetrator of these fires almost exclusively targeted City of Luxembourg rubbish bins and recycling containers.

After several weeks of investigations, the judicial police service, in cooperation with the territorial units, managed to identify the suspected arsonist and have placed him / her at the disposal of the judge responsible for the criminal investigation.
