The number of people applying for international protection (asylum) in Luxembourg in March 2020 stood at 116, up from 105 the previous month but down from 220 in March 2019.
The largest number of applicants seeking asylum last month came from Syria (24), followed by Eritrea, Turkey and Venezuela (14 each).
In total, 75 decisions on asylum applications were taken during March 2020, with 36 applicants gaining refugee status
A total of 376 applications for asylum have been received so far this year.
