With the increase in intensity of measures announced by the Luxembourg government in light of the spread of COVID-19, the number of people out and about in Luxembourg city centre has almost dried up completely.

With the only shops still open just being supermarkets and shops selling food, as well as pharmacies and filling stations, even restaurants are closed to visitors, instead just offering takeaway or home delivery services. Social distancing (2 metres) is in place and even some parks are now closed.

Photographer Ali Sahib took these photos when out in Luxembourg city on Saturday afternoon, with just a handful of cars and people at the Golden Lady on the Place de la Constitution.

With people practicing self-isolation and staying at home, the aim is to reduce the impact of the Coronavirus on the residents of the Grand Duchy.
