The Grand Ducal Police have reported that serious flooding has occurred across the country, namely in Ettelbruck and Mersch in central Luxembourg.

In light of this flooding, the police have asked that all car owners who have not yet removed their vehicles from the Parking Deich in Ettelbruck and the Lohr, Schlasspech and Impasse Aloyse Kayser car parks in Mersch do so immediately due to the risk of vehicles sinking into the water.

Indeed, Luxembourg's flood warning service has issued a red alert for "major floods [...] that could have a significant impact on people and property" for the Sauer, Alzette and Chiers rivers. A yellow alert has been issued for potential risk of flooding of the Moselle. Police update: the car park in "Impasse Aloye Kayser" is not affected by the flood.
