Luxembourg and German police have found two suspects wanted for the theft of two cars in Ettelbrück in Luxembourg on 30 July 2019.

Police officers from both Germany and Luxembourg worked together to find the perpetrators, who fled across the border after having stolem two vehicles in central Luxembourg on Tuesday.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Luxembourg police received news of the theft before beginning their search for the perpetrators. The search quickly extended across the border to Germany, where officers from the Daun police station arrested two suspects at around 21:20 and secured the stolen vehicles. Further investigations led to the discovery of another stolen car in Luxembourg.

According to police investigations so far, the 18- and 19-year-old men stole a black Aston Martin and a grey Mini Cooper at 13:00 in Ettelbrück. On this occasion, the 65-year-old vehicle owner is said to have been slightly injured. The suspects subsequently fled with the vehicles, driving across the border into Daun in Germany.

Further investigations led by the Rhineland-Palatinate and the Luxembourg police led to the discovery of another stolen car in Luxembourg; the Volkswagen Golf had apparently been stolen several weeks ago in Munich.

The German police have provisionally arrested the two men in question, whilst the Luxembourg Public Prosecutor's Office intends to request their extradition.
