With this week's heatwave, during which the Grand Duchy experience its hottest ever temperature recorded at 40.8C, coming to an end, MeteoLux has issued a Yellow Weather Warning and has forecast storms for the week-end.
While afternoon temperatures on Friday reached 37C, the evening will see temperatures drop to a maximum of 19C with the arrival of a storm, with wind gusts expected to reach up to 60 km/h. On Saturday, rain is expected in the morning, with heavier rain set for the afternoon which will accompany a thunderstorm. Saturday afternoon temperatures are not expected to rise above 23C.
MeteoLux have also forecast that, between Saturday at 16:00, and midnight on Sunday (i.e. a 32-hour period), heavy showers are expected and could result in a total rainfall of up to 15 litres/m2 over a short time period.
