According to MeteoLux, temperatures in Luxembourg are forecast to drop to a maximum of 35C on Friday, with 36C possibly reached long the Moselle valley, down from a maximum of 42C forecast for Thursday.
With the end of the current heatwave in sight, the Red Alert in place for Luxembourg and Wednesday afternoon and Thursday, is being downgraded to an Orange Alert for Friday between noon and midnight.
Ozone levels are also expected to drop on Friday, but they are forecast to still be above the European threshold of 180 µg/m³ (on Thursday it was 240 µg/m³).
