On Wednesday, on the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg visited a photography exhibition and received a cheque for €38,734.38 for the Stand Speak Rise Up! initiative.

On this occasion, the Grand Duchess visited of the studio of the artist Jacques Schneider, “Kritzel Fabrik”, to discover his work on the Stand Speak Rise Up! forum, initiated by Her Royal Highness on 26 and 27 March 2019 in an attempt to end sexual violence in conflict zones.

During the visit, the Grand Duchess and Jacques Schneider discussed the latter’s support for the Stand Speak Rise Up! initiative. Her Royal Highness also had the chance to view the artist’s photography exhibition retracing the highlights of the forum.

Her Royal Highness also took the opportunity to inaugurate a new signature wall, which will remain accessible throughout the summer period until 19 September 2019. The public will be able to join this initiative by visiting the Kritzel Fabrik studio and signing the Grand Duchess’ appeal.

On this same day, the Grand Duchess received in audience representatives of the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO), who presented Her Royal Highness with a cheque for €38,734.38 for the benefit of the “Fondation du Grand-Duc et de la Grande-Duchesse” (of which the Grand Duchess is President).

This sum, which corresponds to the net profit of guided tours for the 2018 season, will this year go towards the Stand Speak Rise Up! initiative.

Representing the LCTO on this occasion were its president Marc Angel, director Tom Bellion and deputy director Martine Voss.
