The Casemates du Bock, the capital's top tourist attraction, saw an influx of 4,031 visitors during the extended weekend of Pentecost (Friday to Monday), which represents a significant increase of 15% compared to 3,513 visitors in 2018. This increase is part of the growing trend already observed during Easter weekend 2019.
Guided tours are organised three times a day to the Bock Casemates (at 11:00, 14:00 and 16:00) until 15 September 2019.
Despite this strong rise in visitors in the Casemates, fewer tourists made their way to the tourist office on Place Guillaume II. A total of 2,111 visitors were welcomed between Friday and Monday, which corresponds to a 22% drop compared to the weekend of Pentecost 2018. Visitors from Germany were the most numerous, with a total of 631 people, followed by visitors from France (323 visitors), visitors from the Netherlands (141 visitors) and Great Britain (131 visitors).
With 138 guided tours, including 107 private tours and 31 regular tours, during the weekend of Pentecost, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office has seen a steady trend compared to 138 guided tours in 2018.
