In the context of a Hazeldonk International Operation to combat drug trafficking, Luxembourg Police carried out drug checks in the Capellen area on Thursday night.

Around 40 police and customs officers carried out drug checks on the A6 motorway on the night of Thursday 23 to Friday 24 May 2019. Similar checks took place in Belgium, France and the Netherlands.

In the Capellen area, the authorities checked 69 vehicles and 106 individuals and ultimately seized more than 120g of cannabis products and small quantities of other narcotics.

It also turned out that two drivers were under the influence of alcohol. The drivers subsequently lost their licences and the officers issued fines.
