On Friday, afternoon, the Luxembourg Cabinet approved the plan for the reduction of wild pigs in the context of African swine fever.
The Cabinet meeting, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, once again focused on international and European affairs. The Ministers first agreed with the plan for the reduction of wild pigs under Article 3 of the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 29 March 2019 laying down preventive measures against the introduction and spread of African swine fever.
The Cabinet similarly approved the draft Grand-Ducal Regulation determining the practical details of internships, the start-of-career training cycle, the teacher training certificate and the probationary period. The present Grand-Ducal Regulation introduces, among other things, new provisions relating to the probation period and, moreover, the text makes a number of adaptations created by the amendment of 15 June 2018 to the wage agreement concluded on 5 December 2016 between the Government and the General Confederation of the Civil Service.
The Cabinet agreed with draft laws and amended Grand-Ducal Regulations laying down the general status of municipal officials and the organisation of the National Institute of Public Administration. This included an amendment of the Grand Ducal Regulation of 27 February 2011 laying down the procedures for checking the knowledge of the three administrative languages for the recruitment of municipal officials.
The purpose of these two Grand Ducal Regulations was to transpose into the municipal sector the measures resulting from the amendment of 15 June 2018 to the wage agreement concluded on 5 December 2016, as noted above.
