On Tuesday morning, a worker on a construction site on Bld d'Avranches in Luxembourg-ville was seriously injured when he fell 3-4 metres.
The incident happened shortly after 11:00 close to the railway line and the Rocade de Bonnevoie tunnel to/from Luxembourg-gare. A shuttering panel, which had overturned, completely destroyed access to the construction site. The emergency rescue services and the Grand Ducal Police were only able to reach the scene of the accident via the railway tracks. For a period of time, train traffic was blocked on lines 10 (Luxembourg - Troisvierges) and 30 (Luxembourg - Wasserbillig).
The CFL confirmed that trains between Luxembourg and Dommeldange were replaced by buses, between 14:00 and 18:00, for line 10. For line 30, trains to and from Wasserbillig were diverted via Syren.
Representatives of the ITM industrial inspection organisation attended the accident site.
