The Grand Ducla police have reported that a large butterfly has gone missing from the Butterfly Garden in Grevenmacher and suspect it has been stolen.
At noon yesterday, an employee of the Butterfly Garden filed a complaint with the police. From a tropical terrarium butterfly garden, a large Panther chameleon butterfly - with about 15 centimetres wingspan - named Freddy was stolen. The theft happened between Saturday 3 September at 13:30 and Sunday 4 September at 09:00. A small door on the rear wall of the tropical terrarium had been opened and Freddy was stolen.
The Butterfly Garden has stressed that Freddy needs to be kept under the same and usual conditions, otherwise he may not survive long.
