On Saturday 2 April 2016 the world will honour the 8th World Autism Awareness Day, with Luxembourg commemorating the day with several events in the city centre.
In the Grand Duchy, the Fondation Autisme Luxembourg will organise different events to highlight the needs of people with autism. At Place d'Armes there will be workshops, a release of several balloons at 14:00 as well as various stands, two hot-air balloons and an informative conference on autism, among others. Children wanting to go up in the balloons are encouraged to bring a teddy bear with them.
This day, started in 2008, aims to better inform the public about the realities of this disorder as a the result of a neurological disorder, which influences brain function and affects 3,000 people in Luxembourg.
