Two women were assailed by two men whilst walking along rue de Hollerich in the Gare district of Luxembourg City in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The two unknown men approached the victims asking for cigarettes and when their request was rejected they made a grab for the women's handbags. In an attempt to defend themselves, one of the women was hit on the head with a bin, falling to the ground as the men ran off with her handbag down rue de la Fonderie.
