The Chief of Staff at the Grand Ducal household has announced that His Royal Highness the Grand Duke has appointed Mr Lucien Weiler to the office of Marshal of the Court.
A lawyer by profession, Mr. Weiler was for many years (1984-2013) a member, and then President (2004-2009) of the Chamber of Deputies. His public course is marked by the spirit of impartiality and deep institutional experience. He will take up office on 4 January 2016.
After more than two years of loyal service, Pierre Bley, Marshal of the Court, recently announced his right to retire at 31 December 2015. Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess have conferred upon him the honorary title of Emissary of the Court for civil society.
