The increased Luxembourg-France border controls by French Customs and Police following the Paris attacks last Friday have led the SNCF and the CFL to enhance the rail transport available between the two countries.
On Thursday 19 November 2015, all trains on the Metz-Thionville-Luxembourg line are provided with double rowing, meaning 2x330 seats. Normally, out of the 12 trains which arrive in Luxembourg between 06:00 and 09:30, only 7 of them offer 660 seats in double rows, with the other 5 only constituting single unit seats.
The capacity was therefore increased by 5 for the morning peak period. The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure announced that if roadside checks continue on the A3/A31, this increased capacity will also be available on Friday 20 November 2015.
