Around 150 grams of hashish and drug paraphernalia were seized by police on Saturday afternoon from 12 young people in a Pétange playground.
Police officers encountered the 12 individuals, who were all aged between 17 and 25, hanging around a primary school playground at around 15:40 on Saturday 31 October 2015. A police search revealed a weighing machine on a nearby bench, before a pizza box filled with drugs was discovered.
Each suspect denied any prior knowledge of the pizza box or weighing machine and as no one would confess to being the owner of the items, they were subjected to a body search. This in turn revealed a total of 12 bags of marijuana, a set of scales, empty plastic sachets, a grinder and joints.
The individual in question was subsequently determined to be a drug dealer, and a search was carried out along with a drug detection dog at the suspect's house, where officers found and confiscated marijuana, amphetamine pills, a grinder and several empty bags.
