Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean Asselborn, will today be speaking at the 'Young Leaders Summit' of the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) at the University of Luxembourg.
The Summit has been co-organised by the ASEF and the University and will be held in conjunction with the 12th meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Europe-Asia Meeting (ASEM), running from 1 to 5 November 2015. It is being held in Luxembourg under the theme 'Entrepreneurship and Youth Employment' and brings together influential people from political, economic and academic circles with 18-30 year olds from ASEM member countries. The idea is to lay the foundations for constructive and dynamic dialogue focusing on the topics of entrepreneurship and job creation.
Minister Asselborn will be providing the opening speech of the summit dedicated to the challenges faces by Eurasia and the potential cooperation opportunities between the two continents, particularly in the fields of employment creation, mobility and social cohesion.
ASEF was founded in 1997 as the cultural pillar of the ASEM. It assembles 53 partners from Europe and Asia as a means of promoting exchanges on intellectual, cultural and interpersonal levels in order to enhance mutual understanding between the two regions. Since its inception, ASEF has implemented more than 650 collaborative projects with governments, civil society and around 17,000 participants across Eurasia.
