On Friday, the Cabinet of the Luxembourg Government approved an interim progress report on the implementation of the Luxembourg Science Centre project in Differdange and decided to give the project the status of national interest.

The establishment of an agency for the promotion of science in Differdange will see the first phase of the project realised with the creation of the Luxembourg Science Centre at the premises of the Léierbud in Differdange.

To implement the project, part of the building is to be transformed in order to adapt to the requirements of the Luxembourg Science Centere. The Luxembourg State will take on the initiative of a project to address a lack of infrastructure.

Until a year ago, the Léierbud had been used as a training centre for those wanting to work in industry, for ArcelorMittal.
