Members of the Luxembourg public will now be able to have a limited daily amount of money from their checking account delivered to their door through a new range of postal offers.

On Monday 26 October 2015, POST Luxembourg launched a new range of services which will be provided be postmen, expanding on traditional home post delivery.

The services followed the introduction of a new tariff system and Ready2Post, FollowMe and PostPack products, as well as the implementation of 'Point POST' outlets in Cactus supermarkets. Luxembourg will now join other neighbouring countries in revamping a declining mail industry through new possible services in addition to the distribution of letters and packages.

Services will include the removal and payment of a limited daily amount of money on a post checking account; a forwarding service for post to another address; safe-keeping of postal items; prepaid envelopes; packaging for sending parcels; stamps; prepaid letters and parcels; depositing of letters; delivery of registered letters; the sale of FollowMe labels for tracking; limited order of coin rolls.

Hjoerdis Stahl, director POST Courier, explained how these services are designed to shake up the postal sector.

"We need to innovate and to develop this business which is a high added value resource thanks to the proximity of the citizen at the national level," commented Stahl. "Our postmen, who engage with customers every day, have built a relationship of trust with them, and can for example help older people who lack mobility or who are not very familiar with the internet".

The services will be carried out by the postman the day after the order is filled out, upon postal delivery.
