At its cabinet meeting last Friday 23 October, the Luxembourg government continued their discussions on the issue of national planning to host a large number of refugees in the Grand Duchy.
The meeting instructed the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure to prepare four "land use" plans to establish reception facilities for those applying for international protection, those whose applications for international protection have been rejected/unsuccessful and those whose applications for international protection have been successful, at four different sites located in the municipalities of Diekirch, Junglinster, Mamer and Steinfort.
The land use plans are intended to designate the land necessary for the establishment of first-phase welcome centres in the medium term.
