On Wednesday evening, two armed robbers held up the TOTAL filling station in Luxembourg-Howald at around 21:00.

A passerby in the street tried to stop the robbers and was lightly wounded in the head by one of the robbers. Employees present in the station at the time of the robbery were able to reach safety and were not injured; a customer who was present was hit by one of the attackers.

Despite the two assaults described above, no shots were fired during the attack. The robbers made off with two cartons of cigarettes but could not remove any money.

TOTAL Luxembourg have confirmed that they are working closely with the Grand Ducal Police in connection with the investigation launched. The filling station in Howald reopened on Thursday morning.
